Buying Guides
The Itel IT5606 New (IT5606L) costs ₦13,023 and is listed in stock in Ogabassey’s 16 October 2026 catalog snapshot. Its 2500mAh battery, dual SIM and basic calling features suit backup use. Buy it for calls and SMS; if WhatsApp, clear document photos or smartphone apps matter, choose a verified alternative.

The strongest reason to consider this Itel is to give essential calls and text messages their own device. That could mean keeping a second number reachable while your main phone charges, providing a simple family contact phone, or separating a business calling line from your smartphone. These are editorial buyer recommendations based on the listed features, rather than results from hands-on testing.
Do not let its placement in the Smartphones category obscure what you are buying. The IT5606L is a 2G GSM feature phone. It is not a low-cost substitute for an Android handset when the job involves app installation, video meetings or photographing paperwork. Its value depends on whether it completes your actual tasks, rather than how many features appear in a listing.
For a family member, check usability before choosing on battery capacity alone. Ask them to read a message, find a contact and hear an incoming call on the actual unit. The catalog confirms a 2.4-inch screen and mono loudspeaker, but provides no measured outdoor visibility, maximum volume or accessibility assessment.
The following facts come from the Ogabassey catalog snapshot. Missing specifications remain unknown; they are not zero scores. The product name is Itel IT5606 New (IT5606L), while its retained URL slug contains IT5600. Match the delivered model to the listing name and order confirmation rather than relying on the URL alone.

Use the live Itel IT5606 New (IT5606L) product page to check the current offer and selected configuration. The listed price record has no last-price-sync timestamp or paid-order price history, so this guide cannot establish a discount, previous selling price or price trend.
If chatting means ordinary text messages, this phone fits the listed use case. If it means WhatsApp groups, voice notes, picture sharing or business messaging, do not buy it on an assumption. Ask for a demonstration of the exact service on the exact model, including sending and receiving a message. A menu icon or an old promotional reference is insufficient evidence of working service access.
For someone who needs both backup calls and dependable app messaging, a supported Android phone is the safer buying direction. Check the messaging app’s current requirements and the selected handset’s software before payment. This is a capability decision first; a cheaper phone becomes poor value if it cannot perform the task you bought it for.
The IT5606L’s listed battery capacity is 2500mAh. That supports its positioning as a battery-focused feature phone, but capacity alone cannot establish how many days it will last. There are no measured standby time, call endurance, battery-health result or charging test. Claims such as “a week between charges” would therefore be unsupported.
For backup use, judge success by whether the phone remains ready through your normal calling schedule. Keep it charged and make occasional test calls rather than leaving an emergency device untouched for long periods. Dual SIM can help keep two numbers available, but it does not prove simultaneous calling capability or equal reception on both networks.
The listing name is IT5606L but its retained URL uses IT5600. Treat the connector as unresolved until the seller supplies a photograph of the labelled unit and its port. Buy a cable only after that check. Neither connector shape nor battery capacity establishes charging wattage or a full-charge time.
The catalog describes a basic 0.3MP rear-camera class with no optical image stabilization. Treat it as an occasional convenience, not the reason to buy. For readable receipts, assignment pages, product photographs or identity documents, require sample results from a more suitable phone. This guide contains no sample images or camera testing, and video specifications are not listed.
The performance description is similarly limited: “feature-phone chipset.” There is no named processor, benchmark or verified RAM figure in the catalog snapshot. Its listed calls, SMS, radio and backup roles are the sensible basis for judging it. Do not transfer gaming, multitasking or app expectations from Android phones to this device.
The microSD slot supports cards up to 32GB according to the catalog. That is expandable storage, not RAM, and does not establish available internal space or supported media formats. If you want it for stored audio, ask which file formats work and whether a card is included; neither should be assumed from card-slot support.
Network compatibility is a separate purchase gate. This is a 2G GSM phone with no 5G support, so confirm that your chosen operator provides usable 2G service where the phone will actually be used. For travel elsewhere in Africa, check the destination operator and exact supported bands. A familiar operator name or dual-SIM label cannot settle that question.
Confirm the exact accessory or replacement-part model against the laptop’s product identifier and service documentation before ordering. A connector’s shape alone does not establish compatibility.
New condition also needs to be distinguished from warranty entitlement. Ask OgaBassey for the invoice, model identification, written warranty terms and return procedure for a faulty-on-arrival unit. Carlcare’s Nigeria service policy addresses itel phones and limits its stated territorial terms to products sold within Nigeria; it does not establish this particular unit’s eligibility. Verify coverage using the device details rather than assuming a duration from the brand name.
Replacement battery, keypad and screen availability are not documented here. If repairability is central to the purchase, ask about support for the exact IT5606L model before ordering. No repair price, spare-part stock or guaranteed turnaround time can be inferred from the phone’s low purchase price.
The most useful comparison is between two jobs: a separate calls-and-SMS device and a main phone that runs apps. Browse Ogabassey’s Smartphones range if you need the second job. Compare exact software, network support, condition and warranty rather than choosing Samsung, iPhone, Tecno, Infinix, Xiaomi or Google purely by brand.
If app messaging is essential, compare a supported Android phone rather than treating a feature phone as a smartphone substitute. The Itel Power 80 buying guide is a starting point for that comparison; verify the current model, software support, price and stock on its product page before choosing.
Another option is to keep a working existing smartphone and add this feature phone only for a separate line. That makes sense when calls are the missing capability. If you need to replace a failed main smartphone, saving toward a suitable Android handset may avoid buying twice. Paying extra for 5G in Lagos or Abuja is secondary to establishing app support and usable coverage; 5G does not solve a feature-phone software limitation.
Choose the IT5606L if your requirements are calls, SMS, two SIMs and a separate backup device, and you have confirmed local 2G coverage and the charging connector. At the ₦13,023 snapshot price, those are the concrete reasons to consider it. Choose another phone if internet messaging, document photography or smartphone apps are essential. Confirm warranty, delivery and the live offer before payment.
WhatsApp compatibility is not verified in the catalog. SMS and Opera Mini support are listed, but neither establishes working WhatsApp access. If WhatsApp is essential, require a working demonstration on the exact unit or choose a supported smartphone.

The catalog provides capacity but no measured runtime. Calls, signal conditions and other use affect endurance, so this guide cannot promise a number of days. Charging wattage and full-charge time are also not listed.
The charging connector is not independently verified for the exact delivered unit; request a port photograph and matching cable confirmation. The IT5606L is listed as a 2G GSM dual-SIM feature phone with no 5G support.
