6 Solutions to Fix Your Lagging Phone: Tips and Tricks for Improved Performance

Lagging, colloquially known as “hanging”, is characterised by delays in touch responsiveness, apps freeze, and slow performance. If you experience any of these, here are six things you can do to fix the problem.
Restarting your phone is the simplest and quickest solution to try when your phone is lagging. To restart your phone, simply hold down the power button until your phone turns off, and then turn it back on again. More often than not, this simple trick will fix your phone.
Cached data can slow down your phone by hogging system resources that your applications to run efficiently. To clear your phone Cache, go to Settings > Storage > Cached data, and tap on it to clear Cache.
Animations can make your phone look nice, but they can also slow it down especially if you are using a budget smartphone. To disable animation, go to Settings > Developer options and scroll down to find the Animation section. Disable any animations that you don't need.
Keeping your phone updated can help improve its performance. Go to Settings > System > Software update to check for any available updates.
